Rare Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Canning Jar with Sistersville, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and recessed "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "A. DARE & SON. / Sistersville. / W. VA." A few minor nicks to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim. Two small in-the-firing pings to shoulder on proper left side of jar. A thin line across underside connecting to a long, thin horizontal crack at base on reverse. Some light staining. H 6 3/8".
