Rare Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Jar with Moundsville, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "S. LEVI, / DRY GOODS / AND GROCERIES. / MOUNDSVILLE, W.VA." This jar and another in this auction are the only Moundsville, WV advertising pieces that we have ever offered.Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some minor traces of old blue paint to surface. H 8".
