Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Keyser, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "JOHN HUGHES / KEYSER / WEST VA." Freehand stripe above and below. Only the second piece bearing advertising for this town that we have offered. Areas of light surface wear. A small base chip. H 9 7/8".
