Four Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Ballardvale, MA origin, fourth quarter 19th century, all of cylindrical form and one-gallon capacity, one stamped "BALLARD VALE" and three stamped "BALLARD VALE / STONE WARE MFG CO.," decorated with brushed floral and foliate motifs. "BALLARD VALE" jug with large curving crack from base, significant sealed flaking to base area, pitting to glaze on upper body, and a small spout chip. Other jugs with various chips. H (of tallest) 12 1/2".
