Two Two-Gallon Stoneware Jugs with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Ballard Pottery, Burlington, VT, second half 19th century, both of semi-ovoid form, one with brushed design of a double-blossomed flowering plant with spotted leaves, stamped "BALLARD & BROTHERS. / BURLINGTON.VT," the other with stylized floral motif, stamped "A. K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON. VT." Taller with a few handle chips, an in-the-firing ping to proper left side, and some staining. Shorter jug with spout chips, a small in-the-firing chip to bottom edge, a small amount of clay residue to underside and a small piece of adhered clay to reverse, and some staining.
