Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird on Stump Decoration, Stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE, NY," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested bird on stump flanked by shrubs. Staining throughout. Rim chips. A 3 7/8" hairline from rim on reverse. H 11 1/4".
