One-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H. &. G. NASH. UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1832-1837, highly-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a fan-shaped flower emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Includes salt-glazed lid of Northeastern origin. Provenance: William Bouck Collection. Jar in very nice condition with a faint 2" horizontal Y-shaped line beside decoration, not visible on interior, a small chip to proper right handle, a 1" hairline from rim on reverse, and some minor in-the-firing pings. Lid with two chips, measuring 1 7/8" and 1 1/4". H (including lid) 9 1/2".
