Four Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, 19th and early 20th century, a one-and-a-half-gallon jar with slip-trailed foliate motif, stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1870; an open-handled jar with cobalt flowering vine motif, Westerwald, Germany origin, 19th century; a cobalt-banded stoneware bottle, stamped "SS KNICKERBOCKER," Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century; and a sppngeware shoulder jug decorated with cobalt sponging over a yellowish ground, American, early 20th century. Norton jar in very nice condition with a small chip and short crack in proper right handle, the interior of rim with shallow chipping and wear. Westerwald jar with staining, hairlines, and a few rim chips. Knickerbocker bottle in excellent condition with minor wear, a spot of fry to cobalt, and some residue and possible faint crazing to surface. Spongeware jug with a base chip on reverse and minor chipping to edge of shoulder molding. H (of tallest) 11".
