Scarce and Fine Miniature Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, probably New Jersey, possibly Abial Price, circa 1830, ovoid jug with rounded spout, decorated with a finely-brushed foliate motif featuring a series of vertical conjoined swags within a wreath-like design. Vertical slash decoration to sides of jug and dashes along the spout and handle. Cobalt highlight to lower handle terminal. Includes cork stopper. The design on this jug is related to motifs used by New Jersey potter, Abial Price, who also worked for a period in Taunton, Massachusetts. Desirable size with strong decoration.
