Small-Sized Stoneware Churn with Elaborate Cobalt Decoration, attributed to Somerset Potters Works, Somerset, MA, circa 1870, tapering churn with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and tall, semi-squared rim, decorated with a slip-trailed looping line and spot design flanked by crossed leaves, underscored with dashed brushwork and spots. Graduated brushed swag decoration to shoulder. Includes wooden dasher and guide. Very nice condition with a chip to inner rim for lid. H (excluding dasher) 10 3/8".
