Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Stephen B. Sweeney, Henrico County, VA, circa 1838-1868, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a large stylized tulip motif on the front and reverse. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. One handle restored. Otherwise excellent condition. H 15".
