Scarce Pomroy, OH Tanware Advertising Jug, New Geneva or Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1885, cylindrical form with semi-squared spout, featuring the stenciled Albany slip advertising, "J. A. FRANZ. / GROCERIES AND / LIQUORS. / POMROY. OHIO." Spout with wear and a chip. A small base chip. A minor in-the-firing ping to shoulder on reverse. H 9 1/2".
