Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Louisville, KY Advertising, Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "BAYLESS / McCARTHEY / & CO. / LOUISVILLE. KY." Large stenciled rose motif above. Stenciled "2" flanked by roses below. Freehand stripes below rim and at base. Numerous minor chips and nicks to underside of rim. A few in-the-firing discolored areas to surface. Light staining and minor black paint residue. H 11 3/4".
