Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Wreath and Coggled Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK / ATHENS," NY State origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, ribbed lug handles, and coggled circle pattern to rim, decorated with a brushed wreath surrounding the maker's mark. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: Warren F. Hartmann Collection. A 1" flake to front of rim. A minor flake and area of light wear to top of rim. A few very minor base chips. H 15 1/4".
