Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crocks, Mid-Atlantic origin, circa 1870, a one-and-a-half-gallon crock with cobalt tulip decoration on each side, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA; paired with a one-and-a-half-gallon crock with two-stemmed clover plant decoration on each side, Baltimore, MD origin. Remmey crock with a Y-shaped crack on underside, continuing a short distance onto base, a top-to-bottom crack from rim, some shallow chipping to rim, and some water glass staining. Baltimore crock with top-to-bottom crack from rim, an iron ping to one handle, two rim chips, and a small in-the-firing ping to rim.
