Unusual Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Scrolled Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "PFALTZGRAFF & CO. / YORK, PA", circa 1876, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded spout, decorated with a brushed foliate design featuring scrolled stems. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. A small, glazed-over spout chip. A shallow chip and minor nick to spout. Staining to surface. Some minor wear to surface.
