Rare Two-Gallon Spongeware "OYSTERS" Crock, American, circa 1900, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "N.Y.CO. / OYSTERS / S.B.", surrounded by heavy sponging to the body and handles. Unusual and desirable subject matter. A 5" crack from rim on reverse. Two other, shorter hairlines from rim. Three small chips to one handle. Faint surface lines to underside, not visible on interior.
