Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, 19th century, a two-gallon ovoid jug with cobalt foliate decoration, Stamped "SMITH & DAY / NORWALK", CT origin; paired with a two-gallon crock with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "RIEDINGER & CAIRE / POUGHKEEPSIE, NY". Smith & Day jug with a large Y-shaped crack on side, continuing onto underside, an in-the-firing spout chip, an in-the-firing base chip, and a short line to base/underside. Poughkeepsie crock with two long hairlines from rim on front.
