Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT:," circa 1870, a four-gallon cylindrical jug with slip-trailed floral spray, paired with a three-gallon cylindrical jar with slip-trailed stem bearing three leaves. Jug in excellent condition with a minor 2" line at base on reverse, some staining, and a short in-the-firing fissure to underside. Jar in very nice condition with a few small chips to interior of rim, an in-the-firing lime ping at base on reverse, other extremely minor in-the-firing flaws to shoulder on reverse, some minor staining to exterior, and water glass staining to interior. H (of jug) 16 1/2".
