Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Birdhouse, American, circa 1875, domed form with carved opening at base, heavily-tooled shoulder and finial, and piercings on the front and reverse for a perch and for hanging, the surface covered in a clear salt glaze. Excellent condition with some residue to surface. A minor in-the-firing ping to proper right side. Two minor post-firing chips to underside and an in-the-firing chip to underside. H 8".
