Extremely Rare Stoneware Chamber Pot with Elaborate Freehand Cobalt Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, wide, semi-ovoid form with semi-rounded rim and applied handle, brush-decorated with an undulating vine between straight and wavy freehand stripes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 4" hairline from rim, ending in a glazed-over ping. Other minor in-the-firing pings to surface. Small rim chip. Some light fry to cobalt. H 6 1/4" ; Diam. 8 5/8".
