Unusual Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bowl, Western PA or WV origin, circa 1875, flaring bowl with tooled rim molding and ribbed lug handles with depressed terminals, decorated with an abstract stenciled design featuring horizontal heart-like elements. Stenciled "2" below. Freehand stripes below rim and at base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Some in-the-firing warping to bowl. Some wear to rim and handles. Two small in-the-firing chips to bottom edge of bowl. H 6 7/8" ; Diam. 10 1/2".
