One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, Stenciled "WILLIAMS & REPPERT / GREENSBORO. PA," circa 1885, ovoid pitcher with flared collar, the body decorated with Williams & Reppert maker's stenciling surrounding stenciled floral motifs, all between a straight and wavy freehand stripe. Collar and spout decorated with freehand dashes between two freehand stripes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Wear to front of spout. Some fry or wear to cobalt. Otherwise excellent condition with some in-the-firing discoloration. H 11 7/8".
