Exceptional Tanware Pitcher, New Geneva or Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1885, cylindrical-bodied pitcher with ornately-turned collar culminating in a narrow opening with flared rim. Body decorated around its circumference with a brushed fuchsia vine design between freehand dashes and stripes. Collar decorated with an inverted drape motif, interspersed with spots, along with graduated sets of dashes between freehand stripes. Wonderful form and striking decoration. Handle restored. Minor firing flaws. H 7 1/2".
