Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, Stamped "S. RISLEY / NORWICH," CT origin, mid 19th century, a two-gallon cylindrical jug with brushed and slip-trailed floral motif above a cobalt-script "2," paired with a three-gallon crock with a slip-trailed floral motif above cobalt-script "3." Jug in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Crock with spider crack on underside, large horizontal crack at base, a short line from rim on reverse, a short in-the-firing line to rim on reverse, a longer in-the-firing surface on interior of rim, a few small rim chips, and some staining. H (of jug) 12 3/4".
