Two Two-Gallon Stoneware Jugs with Cobalt Bird Decorations, F.B. Norton Pottery, Worcester, MA, circa 1870, both of cylindrical form, one with slip-trailed parrot-on-branch motif, stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS," the other with slip-trailed dove-on-branch, stamped "F.B. NORTON SONS. / WORCESTER MASS." Taller jug with all-over staining and a few in-the-firing pings to surface. Other jug with a spider crack to underside, a large area of restoration to jug's right side, fry to cobalt, and an in-the-firing iron ping to reverse. H (of taller) 13 7/8".
