Black-Glazed Redware Vase, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin, circa 1840-1880, ovoid vase with broad foot and flared rim, the exterior surface covered in a black lead-and-manganese glaze, the interior with clear lead glaze over orange clay. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. Two rim chips, one with a J-shaped crack descending 3 1/4" from rim. Some other, very minor rim wear. H 8 1/8".
