Important and Possibly Unique Green-Glazed Redware Flower Urn and Saucer, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO," circa 1860, large-sized, ovoid pot with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and twisted faux rope handles, covered in a bright green lead and copper glaze. Includes matching separate saucer with green glaze. Urn and saucer both stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO." Provenance: Once part of the Richard Flanders Smith collection, and pictured on his famous poster of flowerpots. A remarkable example in many respects. Mint condition. H (including saucer) 9 1/4" ; Diameter 9 1/4".
