Two Northeastern U.S. Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, 19th century, a two-gallon jar with slip-trailed drape and floral decoration, dated "1840", attributed to Smith & Day, Norwalk, CT; paired with a four-gallon jar with slip-trailed spotted floral motif, stamped "A.O. WHITTEMORE / HAVANA, N.Y.". Dated jar with significant restoration and a few in-the-firing base chips. Whittemore jar in excellent condition with some staining to surface.
