Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Cobalt "S" Within a Wreath, Stamped "CARPENTER & CO / PAWTUCKET, R.I.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with lug handles, decorated with a large stenciled letter "S" within a finely-stenciled wreath. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Minor nick to one handle and minor wear to opposite handle. 5/8" chip to front along with a few other minor rim chips. Some staining to surface. Minor 1 1/8" in-the-firing surface line on interior, not visible on exterior.
