Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "FENTON & HANCOCK / ST. JOHNSBURY, VT.," circa 1860, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed vine bearing large stylized blossoms with spotted interiors. Recessed 1" contact mark to right of decoration. Small iron ping to right blossom. Shallow 3/4" flake on top of spout. Two short lines on underside, which continue 1 3/4" and 1 1/2" onto base, both of which appear to be in-the-firing.
