Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Drape and X Decorations, probably New Jersey origin, early 19th century, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and open loop handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed cobalt drape design accented with X's on the interior and below. One handle restored. Restoration to crack extending across underside and vertically up to shoulder of jar. A 1" rim chip and a very small rim chip. Chipping to base. 1" piece of kiln furniture adhered to body of jar. An iron ping to one side.
