Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Rose Decoration, Stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON / & CO. / GREENSBORO. PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with elaborate rose stenciling at the shoulder and base between two freehand stripes. Good decoration. Some wear to surface. 1" chip on interior of rim. Chipping to shoulder molding on reverse.
