Five-Gallon Stoneware JAr, Stenciled "A. CONRAD / NEW GENEVA POTTERY / NEW GENEVA, PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with heavily-tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and rounded rim, decorated with unusual "A. CONRAD / NEW GENEVA POTTERY" stenciling flanked by stars and underscored by two rose branches. Loss to one handle. Rim secured with a wire. 7" sealed inverted Y-shaped crack on reverse, with 1 3/4" x 1/4" reglued sliver and a few small chips. Some rough surface defects to front.
