Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "FARRAR & STEARNS / FAIRFARX, Vt.," second quarter 19th century, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stylized foliate design with wreath-like tip. Light staining to surface. Rim chips, including two shallow pieces, measuring a total of 1", reglued on reverse. 4 3/4" hairline from rim on reverse. Handle chip.
