Ovoid Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, James River, VA origin, circa 1820, approximately one-gallon ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and tall collar ending in a thin flange, decorated around the shoulder with a series of connected flowers with leafy stems and open blossoms. Attractive form and folky decoration. 1/2" in-the-firing chip to shoulder. 2", 1 1/4", and 1", chipped sections to rim. Small base chip. H 9 1/4".
