Three-Gallon Worcester, MA Stoneware Advertising Jug with Cobalt Parrot Decoration, attributed to F.B. Norton, Worcester, MA, circa 1858-1877, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large design of a crested parrot with spotted body and tail, perched on a large leaf. Impressed above with the advertising, "J. S. HILL. / 38 MECHANIC ST. / WORCESTER." Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Very nice condition with one small and one very minor chip to interior of spout, two minor chips to underside at edge, an in-the-firing discolored spot to shoulder, and two minor in-the-firing iron pings. H 16".
