Small-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO / PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and recessed "wax sealer" rim, featuring Hamilton and Jones maker's stenciling within a vine-like pattern. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. Chips to interior of rim. An in-the-firing contact mark to inner wax sealer rim. Very minor surface wear. H 6 7/8".
