Two Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Floral Decorations, Stamped "BALLARD VALE / STONEWARE MF.G.C," Ballardvale, MA origin, circa 1885, both of related ovoid form, decorated with an elaborate slip-trailed plant with flower at center. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Larger with a 1 7/8" rim chip on reverse, other rim chips, various Y-shaped lines throughout, and fry to cobalt. Other jar with a short line to shoulder on front and water glass staining. H (of taller) 13 1/8".
