Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Wheeling, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1885, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "A.G. HADLICH, / DEALER / IN / WINES & LIQUORS, / 1055 MARKET ST. / WHEELING, W. VA," flanked by small stenciled foliate devices. Diagonally-stenciled "2" with flourishes above. A long, shallow in-the-firing flake to bottom edge and other minor in-the-firing chips to base. A small spout chip on reverse. Minor staining. H 14 1/2".
