Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with New Haven, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, tapering jar with rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "L F ROUSH. / DEALER IN / GENERAL MD'SE. / & COUNTRY PRODUCE. / NEW HAVEN . W. VA." Stenciled vine motif below. Freehand stripes to upper body and base. A crack on reverse, descending in a curve 4 1/4" from rim. Three small chips to interior of rim. Some miniscule nicks to inner wax sealer rim. Some bubbling to cobalt. H 10 1/8".
