One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird-on-Floral Decoration, Charlestown, MA origin, mid 19th century, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a long-tailed bird perched on the stem of a flower. A few minor spout chips. Tight lines to upper handle terminal. A tight crack in lower handle terminal and a line in midsection of handle; handle does not appear to be reglued. Staining to surface. A glazed-over iron ping to one side near base. H 11 3/4".
