Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stenciled "FOELL & ALT, / EAST BIRMINGHAM, PA," circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, ribbed lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with an undulating fuchsia vine design above bold-faced "FOELL & ALT" maker's stenciling. Stenciled "3" with freehand dashes and stripes at base. Excellent condition with a shallow chip and wear to one handle.
