Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "L & B G CHACE / SOMERSET," Massachusetts origin, circa 1850, squat-shaped jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a two-stemmed tulip plant design. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. In-the-firing stone ping to side of jug near base. A glazed-over chip to spout. A glazed-over dent to reverse. Mottling to clay.
