Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Advertising, Inscribed "P. Cushman & Co. / Albany, NY," Fort Edward, NY origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, featuring the slip-trailed cobalt advertising "P. Cushman & Co / Wines Brandies & C / 376 & 378 Broadway / Albany / NY". 1" iron ping on underside. Three iron pings to left side of jug, the largest measuring 1 3/8". A small iron ping on front below spout. Some shallow in-the-firing chipping to top of spout on reverse. Horizontal hairline at base of handle. An additional horizontal surface line on underside of handle.
