Two Pieces of Northeastern U.S. Stoneware, third quarter 19th century, a four-gallon crock with flower basket decoration, stamped "J. NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON, VT", paired with a five-gallon crock with cobalt bird-on-stump decoration, probably Riedinger & Caire, Poughkeepsie, NY. Norton crock with restored exfoliation to decoration, additional unrestored exfoliation, a crack from rim on front and reverse, and chips on interior of rim. Bird crock with several long cracks, some exfoliation to surface, chips on interior of rim, and sticky residue to surface.
