Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a large chicken pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Several rim chips. Chipping to one handle. A shallow chip to end of opposite handle. Staining to surface. A small chip to underside at edge. Short 3/4" surface line to rim on reverse.
