Six-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt-Stenciled Floral Decoration, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO / PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with stenciled daisy plants flanking Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling. Various stenciled accents at midsection and stenciled "6" with flourishes at base. Numerous small chips to bottom edge of rim and shoulder molding. Small chip to end of one handle. Chip to end of opposite handle and tiny nick to other end of opposite handle. Chip to interior of rim. 1" filled and colored stone ping to left of decoration.
