Rare Small-Sized Redware Canning Jar with Slip Decoration, Galena, IL, second half 19th century, squat-shaped jar with rounded shoulder and tall flaring collar, the surface decorated with heavy yellow slip over a mottled green and orange ground. Jar includes original lead-glazed Galena lid with green coloration. Exceptional form and color. Restored rim chips. Restored chipping to area along top edge of lid. Small restored chip to knob. Wear along edge of lid. H (including lid) 6".
