Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Chip on underside at edge. Salt drip to front. Additional drips of staining to surface. Two small spout chips and roughness to rim. Minor 1/2" surface line in spout.
